22 Mar 2017 Travel and Adventure Show in Denver, Colorado
The world of travel is changing all the time. There are unknown places to explore, new technologies, and off-the-beaten track locations.
Ron and I recently attended the Travel and Adventure Show in Denver, Colorado to see what new information we could gather.
The show had a dozen long rows featuring various vendors from different locations. Some of these included China, Thailand, Europe and South America. These transitioned into domestic areas including Las Vegas, Montana, The Florida Keys and Colorado. Visitors were able to grab literature and chat with representatives from tourism boards, travel agencies and suppliers offering everything from African safaris to intimate, personalized tours to far flung areas of the world.
One of the fun things about attending events like this is so travelers can find out about lesser-known opportunities and ask questions directly to the service provider. What sorts of things, you may ask? What about taking a ferry along the Alaska Marine Highway as an alternative way to explore that state? Or, perhaps a walking tour of Tokyo, Japan which is more affordable now than ever and also one of the safest countries in the world. You could even experience a camel ride at the show and get a sample of that mode of transportation.
Travel Celebrities were part of the action and I took the time to catch Samantha Brown’s travel lecture, getting there early to grab a front row seat. Yup, she was just a genuine in person as on her TV series. Afterwards, I had the opportunity to meet her personally and exchange a few words of “travel talk.”
All in all, a great show and my recommendation is to catch one of these in any number of other cities. You can find these on their website at: https://travelshows.com/.
